The Cayman Islands invite well-paid workers to work for up to two years away from their idyllic territory. For this it is enough that they earn at least 100 thousand dollars a year (over 84 thousand euros).
Launched on October 21, the Global Citizen Concierge program calls for well-paid workers to move to the islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. This is an almost unique opportunity for anyone who has no ties to or resides in the Cayman Islands to visit this territory, which remains off limits to tourists.
To enroll in this program, applicants must have a letter proving that they earn more than $ 100,000 annually if they intend to embark on this adventure alone. If they want to move in with a partner, they have to collect together 150 thousand dollars (about 126 thousand euros) and, if they have descendants, they add another 30 thousand dollars (25 thousand euros).
Anyone who wants to work remotely across the Cayman Islands can also choose to do so with siblings, parents, grandparents and grandchildren, if they are “totally or peacefully dependent on the candidate,” according to CNBC.
Participants must have a valid passport, proof of income, health insurance, and a statement that they have no criminal record to participate. A visa may also be required, exceptionally, for citizens of some countries, not disclosed in the statement of the Global Citizen Concierge Program.
Once approved, applicants can travel in and out of the islands as soon as they wish, having to spend 90 days a year in the Cayman Islands. Upon entry, a 14-day quarantine is required in some of the most desirable locations on the three islands, and two tests are performed on covid-19.
According to statements by Moses Kirkconnell, deputy prime minister and minister of tourism of the Cayman Islands, the government “succeeded” in its fight against covid-19, turning the three paradisiacal islands into a “safe haven”.
