The platform will allow easy access to data on concessions and published contributions stored on the Ethereum blockchain.
The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) has announced the launch of a new blocker explorer Ethereum in an official press release of 20 August.
According to the press release, the new blockchain explorer was developed through the IRAP (Industrial Research Assistance Program) of the NRC, created by Bitaccess, startup blockchain, and is hosted on the IPFS system (InterPlanetary File System) ).
IPFS has defined an immutable and distributed integrator over HTTP, allowing a more transparent, less centralized and more secure connection. The NRC press release explains that IPFS operates as a peer-to-peer method of storing and sharing data. Web applications hosted there can not be changed in any way and are intended to be permanent.
Bitaccess also published a statement on the development of the new blockchain explorer on August 20th. Explain that users can use the explorer blockchain to quickly locate information about the concessions and published contributions published on the Ethereum blockchain.
"Our goal is to enable institutions to become fully transparent and to allow members to participate in the verification and validation of public information," says Moaccham, co-founder of Bitaccess. "We built [IPFS] as a simple, low-risk, application for institutions to be introduced to blockchain technology."
The Canadian government launched for the first time a live test of public blockchain technology on the Ethereum platform in January with the intention of transparent management of government contracts . Since then, IRAP NRC has worked on ways to experiment with other use cases for blockchain technology and explore how it can safely share information with the public.
The NRC has closed its announcement with an eye to the future:
"These are the early days, but NRC IRAP experiments with blockchain should provide a constructive understanding of the potential of this technology and how can be used for more open and transparent operations for public programs. "
