Oásis Supermercados, a leading supermarket chain in Brazil will start accepting cryptocurrencies according to one of the supermarket managers, Douglas Andrade. Announced last week, the supermarket will start accepting Bitcoin [BTC], Bitcoin money [BCH] and Litecoin [LTC] – Both the last two are variants of Bitcoin, the main cryptocurrency.
Andrade was quoted by a local news agency saying that,
"It's really easy, it's like a credit card payment, the customer says which cryptocurrency he wants to pay, the operator types in Reais and the system already converts to that encryption, so just scan the QR code and the game is done. "
Based in the capital of Rio De Janeiro, the supermarket chain is relatively successful and reports annual revenue figures close to $ 6.5 million and employs only fewer than 100 employees. To make preparations to accept cryptocurrency payments, the supermarket has trained its ~ 20 cashiers on the basis of cryptocurrencies.
To facilitate payments, Oásis has collaborated with CoinWISE, a cryptocurrency payment processor that converts cryptography into Brazilian local currency every three days after receiving encryption.
This is good news for the adoption of cryptocurrency, especially considering that this year has witnessed a protracted bear market that caused losses in the market. The acceptance of cryptocurrencies by the main shops and supermarkets is a good omen for the future of digital resources.

Oásis is not the first big business to accept cryptocurrency in Brazil. Several other companies have already worked for several months, including the two Brazilian public transport companies of the GBS Brasil Sul Group and Viação Garcia who announced at the beginning of this year that they will accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.
Metrô Brasília, a public agency in charge of the subway of Rio De Janeiro and Technisa, a construction company, this year received the news for accepting the cryptocurrency. Both accept bitcoins now as payment. To encourage payment in cryptography, Technisa offers 5% discounts for bitcoin payments.
