Did Zoom make you resent those wrinkles? Are you dreading the coming weeks of festive cheer via video conferencing?
Well, there is help at hand with a wide variety of anti-aging gadgets designed to banish the effects of life blocking on your skin.
We’ve gathered the best of the bunch and put them to the test to see how they fare. Some you may have heard of, some not so much.
Either way, this handy guide will help you find the right product for your skin.
Here’s our full rundown of the best anti-aging gadgets you can buy right now.
Sensica Sensilift Bronze
Sensilift uses “dynamic” radiofrequency to firm and lift the skin, massaging it to increase circulation and blood flow, allowing radio waves to travel deep into the skin where collagen is formed. The radiofrequency causes molecular friction and this produces heat: as it penetrates the skin, the heat contracts the collagen fibers, giving an immediate lightening effect.
The Sensilift is safe to use at home because it has built-in sensors that regulate heat but, due to the use of heat, it may not be suitable for people with rosacea.

Nurse Jamie NuVibe RX Amethyst Massaging Beauty Tool
The NuVibe RX Amethyst Massaging Beauty instrument is a hi-tech version of the traditional jade rollers. The amethyst cools the skin as you roll it and massage it around the eyes, while the head vibrates at 6,000 sound pulses per minute. Vibrations and sonic waves stimulate the production of proteins in the skin, especially collagen, and increase blood flow. Both detoxify the skin, improve its flexibility and help smooth the appearance of fine lines.
One study also found that these benefits continue to work for ten minutes after you finish using those rollers.

Foreo IRIS
While it is true that you can use any facial massager on the eyes, as the skin is so delicate it is best to invest in a gadget designed with this fragility in mind like Foreo Iris.
If you can excuse its sex toy-like appearance, use gentle sound pulses that mimic the finger-touch technique used by professionals. The soft silicone does not pull or damage the skin and its shape adapts well to the eye contour. It is also great for dark circles and bags.

Silk’n FaceTite
Silk’n FaceTite technology uses three energy sources to firm and lift the skin: RF (radio frequency) energy, LED light energy, and IR (infrared) thermal energy. RF and IR penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin.
The light energy heats the water in the tissue and causes the collagen fibers to contract and tighten. It also helps repair skin cells and produce new collagen. LED therapy helps regenerate damaged muscle tissues.

The Science Bit
Wrinkles and sagging skin
If fine lines are left deeper and widened, they become wrinkles. They are both caused by the same physical changes and environmental damage, and the only thing that separates them is their size. Wrinkles are more difficult to treat because the skin has lost a substantial amount of collagen, hydration and flexibility.
Pigmentation and age spots
Age spots are another side effect of aging. About two percent of the cells in the outer layer of the skin are melanocytes: these are the source of melanin, which gives our skin its natural pigment. When our skin has been exposed to the sun, it makes the melanocytes denser, increasing the amount of melanin.
As we age, the number of melanocytes decreases. This means that as our skin loses its pigment and becomes paler, the thicker melanocytes become more prominent. Et voila, dark spots.
Fine lines and crow’s feet
Fine lines are usually the first signs of aging we notice. When we smile or frown, our skin collects around the mouth and eyes. When we are younger our skin returns, but as we age these lines remain.
These regions are prone to creasing because the skin, particularly around our eyes, is said to be 40% thinner than any other part of our face. This means that it damages more easily, dries faster, and doesn’t contain as much collagen or fat.
PRAI Ageless Throat Ionic Device & Serum Neck Lift Set
Many of us tend to neglect the neck. Prai uses ion therapy, making the skin more permeable through positive ionic microcurrents.
This helps Prai’s positively charged ion serum ingredients – namely Hyaluronic Acid to plump and Sepilift DPHP to lift and firm – to be absorbed deeper into the skin.

Bad blue light
Studies have shown that the wavelengths of blue light, such as those produced by the phone or other gadgets, suppress the production of melatonin, which is a sleep hormone.
This affects our body’s natural circadian rhythm and can cause what is known as oxidative stress. This stress occurs when there are too many free radicals in the skin. When the level of free radicals exceeds the number of antioxidants designed to fight them, they can begin to damage the body’s proteins, DNA and fat tissues. And this can cause our skin to lose collagen faster and look old prematurely.
Talika Pigment Control
The Talika Pigment Control device uses a combination of green light therapy and ion therapy. The wavelengths in green light target and regulate the area of the skin where melanocytes reside, working to reduce the intensity of dark spots.
Meanwhile, the ion therapy feature uses an ionic microcurrent to improve the effectiveness of the anti-dark spot creams you are using. The device can be used on the face, hands and chest, but is not recommended for people with contact allergy to metal (nickel).
