Despite its impressive size, TYI 2020 looks like a peanut compared to the asteroid that will whiz past Earth later this month. Called WO107, the celestial body is almost as large as the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa.

An asteroid the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza will fly over our planet at dizzying speed on November 7. The celestial body is estimated to be between 79 and 179 meters in diameter, making it the size of one of the wonders of the ancient world. Initially, the pyramid was 147 meters, but over the years it has lost some of its size and now stands at 138 meters.

The 2020 TYI asteroid was first discovered in October and is traveling to Earth at 29,000 miles (46,671 km / h) per hour. NASA said it will pass our planet at a distance of 3.5 million miles, which is nearly 14 times the distance between Earth and the Moon. Despite this, the space agency has classified the celestial body as an object close to Earth, which means it will fly close to us and could pose a danger to our planet.

TYI 2020 is one of the largest asteroids to have a rendezvous with Earth in recent weeks. On November 2, our planet was almost touched by 2018 VP1, which flew a dangerous distance of only 4,000 miles (6,000 km). Famous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson said that the celestial body “cut” the Earth.

At the end of the month, a huge asteroid will pass in front of our planet. WO107 is expected to reach 819 meters in width, which is nearly as large as the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The skyscraper is 828 meters high. WO107 was first discovered in 2000 and according to NASA it will pass our planet at a safe distance on November 29.
