The President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, recognized today, Friday, that there is no alternative to Russia, in military and economic terms, for Belarus.

In an interview with Russian and foreign media, Lukashenko said: “If we take into account the economy, military issues, politics, diplomacy, etc., there will be no alternatives to Russia. Therefore, wherever I go, it will be very difficult for us without Russia. ”

Interestingly, Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed in late September that under conditions of unprecedented external pressure on Belarus after the presidential elections, relations between the two countries are not subject to circumstances and have solid foundations.

In his video speech, Putin noted that “the two countries are working together to solve defense construction problems” and to address acute modern challenges and threats, including within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

And now … taking into account the difficult situation in which the Republic of Belarus found itself, even under conditions of unprecedented external pressure after the presidential elections, I would like to repeat once again: relations between Russia and Belarus are not subject to any moment or circumstance. It has a solid foundation, because our countries are united by strong cultural and spiritual ties rooted over the centuries, broad kinship, family ties and a common history.
