IT services firm Tech Mahindra and Subex, a telecom analytics solution provider, today announced a strategic partnership to drive large-scale adoption of blockchain-based solutions for telecom operators globally. These solutions will enable fraud mitigation and drive operational efficiency for communications service providers (CSPs) by reducing compliance complexities and accelerating time-to-market.

The partnership will enable real-time reconciliation reports with summary data to minimize discrepancies, leading to the reduction of multiple validations and the rapid resolution of disputes through tamper-proof verifiable transactions. It will also accelerate payments for communications service providers (CSPs) and drive greater visibility into the month-end billing cycle. CSPs will benefit from increased operational efficiency by leveraging blockchain-based smart contracts and forge more effective alliances to foster trust between different stakeholders.

“As a preferred service provider of global telecom operators, Tech Mahindra will help reduce overheads and improve business profitability. … Tech Mahindra aims to deliver a state-of-the-art solution built on Blockchain and smart contracts that optimize expenses. and proactively mitigates disputes. Partnering with Subex by adding blockchain as middleware will add the necessary level of security and ensure a faster and more efficient operational process, “said Rajesh Dhuddu, Blockchain and Cybersecurity Practice Leader, Tech Mahindra.

Tech Mahindra will implement telecom operator solutions supported by its capabilities in the domain of operational support systems (OSS) and business support systems (BSS). The solutions will be integrated with Subex’s blockchain network and the capabilities of an enterprise-class Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) network. Additionally, Tech Mahindra plans to extend the current intercarrier settlement implementation in Phase II to include roaming agreements through smart contracts and thus lead to reduced operational costs, faster delivery times and minimize disputes.

Rohit Maheshwari, Head – Strategy & Products, Subex, said: “With Subex’s strategy of enabling companies to build trust within the digital ecosystem, we believe that Blockchain-based technologies will play an important piece of that puzzle. Towards this, we have made significant progress towards leveraging the Blockchain to solve challenges in multiple use cases. ” Founded in 1994, Subex has spent over 25 years helping global communications service providers maximize their revenue and profitability.
