The head of the Syrian negotiating body, Nasser Al-Hariri, has called on Arab countries to reconsider their decision to resume relations with Syria.
Doha – Sputnik. "We are facing a historic moment, and we hope that Arab leaders will not turn away from the Syrians, and that these countries reconsider their decision on relations with Syria," Hariri told a news conference in Riyadh on Sunday 6 January.
"The Iranian threat to Arab countries is going through Syria," said Hariri.
The United Arab Emirates reopened the embassy in Damascus last month and Bahrain declared that its embassy in Damascus and the Syrian diplomatic mission in Manama have operated without interruption.
The League of Arab States suspended Syria's participation in 2011, and for Syria's return, the university must reach consensus among its members on this move.
