While many jumped the gun and called it a UFO, or a potential alien attack, many thought it was a military attack from the outside.
And as feelings of panic rang high over the weekend in the region, scientists figured out what the bright lights were. The lights were spotted parading through the skies on Saturday night.

” We didn’t know what it was, where it came from. He just appeared. It was actually a very disturbing, disturbing feeling, ”Sheri English told KHON.
And while netizens fueled rumors filled with rumors claiming it was definitely aliens, or a military invasion, one scientist told a local news organization what exactly it was.

According to John O’Meara, the chief scientist at the WM Keck Observatory in Hawaii, the light was not coming from aliens or the military, but actually from a rocket. O’Meara told Maui Now that it was indeed a rocket that caused the lights in the sky, which were used to launch a Venezuelan communications satellite in 2008.
It became visible after all these years due to the decay it had undergone in the Earth’s atmosphere. After all the damage, he re-entered the Pacific, having been slowed down due to the slowed capacity.
The scientist, however, acknowledged the disturbing degree of the light, stating that it is not unusual for space junk to fall from the sky. But under normal circumstances, it doesn’t produce such a vast light show. According to him, we were “lucky” because it was visible to the human eye.
