An A&W restaurant in Kingston was closed as a precaution after an employee informed the restaurant management that they received a positive test result for COVID-19.

“We closed yesterday for a deep clean after an employee told us they got a positive test result,” confirmed a restaurant staff member at 1185 Division St on the morning of Saturday, November 14, 2020.

The A&W closure comes after two other local fast-food restaurants, a McDonalds at the Kingston Center and one in downtown Kingston, reported positive cases earlier in the week. The latter restaurant, on Princess St, is now the subject of an outbreak declared by KFL & A Public Health.

Kingston has seen a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases over the past week, with 26 active cases as of Friday, November 13, 2020.
