Some people felt the Earth move in Timmins very early on Sunday morning and didn’t imagine it.
Glencore confirms a seismic event approximately 9,600 feet underground at the Kidd mine at exactly 1:41 am. It recorded 2.9 on the Nuttli scale.
The company says the 21 shift workers were already in shelter stations awaiting a planned explosion … and were brought to the surface with no injuries.
Investigations are underway to determine infrastructure and ground conditions, while mining operations continue.
