Since Redmi announced its independent business in early 2019, it has focused on launching cheaper smartphone products from Xiaomi and recently finally released its first smart watch product. Redmi Watch, which was launched on the Chinese market a few days ago, adopts a square body design and provides the basic functions of the smartwatch at a very affordable price, including fitness, heart rate and sleep monitoring.

The Redmi Watch is equipped with 2.5D glass, a 1.4 inch color screen with 320 x 320 resolution. The silver watch body is water resistant to 50m. It can be combined with a black, white, blue, green or pink silicone strap. It weighs only 35g. Redmi offers more than 120 surface design options and users can change the surface design via the Mi Fit program. The Redmi Watch is connected to the mobile phone via Bluetooth 5.0 BLE and has built-in NFC.

Redmi Watch’s built-in battery can be fully charged in at least 2 hours. Official data indicates that it can be used continuously for 7 days or up to 12 days in power saving mode. Redmi Watch will go on sale on the Chinese market on December 1st. Its official retail price is 299 RMB (about 352 Hong Kong dollars), but there will be a short-term initial offering of 269 RMB (about 317 Hong Kong dollars). Redmi Watch could be launched under the name of Xiaomi Watch Lite in other markets, but the launch date is to be determined.
