The popular digital currency focused on privacy PivX announced the long-awaited release of its dedicated iOS mobile wallet. Because of the strict guidelines that Apple places in the cryptocurrency apps, the release of the new iOS portfolio marks not only a milestone for PIVX but also for the entire community of cryptocurrencies as PIVX becomes the first anonymous proof-of-stake (PoS) currency to receive approval from Apple to list its mobile wallet on the App Store.
What is PIVX?
PivX, which stands for Private Instant Verified Transaction, is a digital currency focused on privacy that allows users to send and receive payments anonymously to preserve their financial privacy.
PIVX is also distinguished by many of its peers in the private coin space due to its high concentration of community and its roadmap, with regular updates and improvements to both the underlying code of the digital currency and its ecosystem.
Probably, the most innovative feature of PIVX is his Private PoS stakeout system. The mechanism allows PIVX users to point coins anonymously and has created a completely new way for people to generate income in the cryptocurrency space in a completely private manner.
As a result of its innovative approach to financial privacy, PivX witnessed an impressive rally from less than one cent in January 2017 to an all-time high of $ 14.56. At the time of writing, PIVX is trade about ~ $ 0.90 and commands a market capitalization of over $ 50 million.
New PIVX iOS portfolio
The new iOS portfolio – also called PIVX – will allow users to easily store, send and receive PIV using their iPhone. The application will also allow users to protect their wallet by using a recovery phrase. In addition, the private key is stored on the user side, not on a centralized server.

As a lightweight client, the iOS portfolio connects directly to the PIVX network with a simple payment verification. It is not necessary to memorize the PIVX blockchain.
In addition, PIVX implemented AES hardware encryption, app sandboxing, and keychain and code signatures to protect user funds from malware and basic security flaws.
The first version of the PIVX iOS portfolio, v3.2, includes the basic functionality that a mobile wallet should have. Some of the more advanced features of PIVX, such as zPIV transactions and staking, should be added to the application by the end of the year.
According to the project's press release, PIVX is one of only seven cryptocurrency projects that have managed to get a "mobile app" on the Apple App Store. IPhone users, on the other hand, are forced to keep most of their altcoins in multi-currency wallets like Coinimi, board, or Jaxx if they want to be able to access it on the go.
At the launch of the iOS portfolio, Chad Ballantyne, community leader and PIVX creative director, said:
"Although PIVX is well known for its world-leading technology on Proof of Stake and privacy, it is important that we bring this revolutionary technology into the hands of everyday users." Our desire is a widespread adoption and being the most used cryptocurrency in the world: Being on the App Store means that we now have a greater opportunity to do so. "
PIVX sticks to its roadmap
With the release of the new iOS portfolio, PIVX continues its path of innovation in the digital space of money focused on privacy and manages to remain constantly in line with its ambitious development roadmap.
In 2018, PIVX became the world first proof-of-stake coin to enable private stakeout and launched the first light knot of Zerocoin which allows users to anonymously zPIV – the anonymous sub-currency of PIVX – using a lightweight client.
With the launch of the iOS portfolio, PIVX check another item on its own schedule to start the year 2019.
