Three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the city and county of Peterborough, Curve Lake First Nation and Hiawatha First Nation were reported Wednesday afternoon by Peterborough Public Health.

A resolved case was also reported on Wednesday.

The jurisdiction has now reached 200 cumulative cases, with 177 resolved, five previous deaths and 18 active cases.

The jurisdiction has a cumulative rate of 135.2 confirmed cases per 100,000 people, less than a fifth of the provincial average of 768.9 cases per 100,000 people as of Wednesday.

The only outbreak occurred at Fairhaven Long-Term Care, declared on Oct.31, where three residents and a staff member remained as active cases until Wednesday. Sixteen have recovered and there have been three previous deaths of Westview 2 residents who tested positive.

More than 36,300 residents, or about 24.5 percent, have been tested for the virus at least once, the health unit also reported Wednesday.
