Toronto police said Wednesday they identified a person interested in the high-profile murders of a Canadian pharmaceutical billionaire couple three years ago, but had not made an arrest.
Barry Sherman and his wife Honey were found belted to a railing near a swimming pool at their Toronto mansion in late 2017. Police say they treat the case as a targeted double homicide.

“The Toronto Police Service can confirm that a person of interest has been identified but not arrested,” spokeswoman Jenifferjit Sidhu said via email. He did not provide further details.
The development was first reported by the Toronto Star newspaper. Barry Sherman founded Apotex in 1974 and turned it into one of the largest generic drug manufacturers before stepping down as CEO in 2012.
He and his wife were known for their donations to Jewish hospitals, universities and organizations.
The Sherman the family criticized the police’s handling of the deaths and hired a private investigator to look into the case. The detective completed the job last year, but has not given details to the public.
