After releasing its first AR eyewear concepts a year ago, Oppo today announced its second Oppo AR Glass 2021 AR eyewear concept machine at its annual Future Technology Conference event. In the display part, Oppo AR Glass 2021 has chosen the Birdbath optical solution. Compared to last year’s concept machine, the new model has improved contrast and brightness uniformity by 53% and 98% respectively, and the pixel density within each degree of field of view has also increased by 40%. In addition, the device also has a full-width speaker based on a semi-open rear cavity sound design. With the display effect “like watching a 90-inch screen at a distance of 3 meters”, Oppo AR Glass 2021 claims to provide “a comparable home theater experience”.
This device has a binocular fisheye camera, built-in ToF module and RGB sensor. Such hardware base brings 6DoF function and spatial positioning accuracy within 1 degree and can also be used in every hand. There are two key points (4 points on each finger) to achieve “millisecond” hand detection and tracking. Not surprisingly, Oppo also plans to add voice interaction with its Breeno assistant to AR Glass 2021, allowing users to connect with the virtual world in a “natural and intuitive” way.
In addition to AR hardware, Oppo today also announced the CybeReal app on mobile to further enrich its AR ecosystem. This application can use “full-time high-precision scene recognition and positioning technology” based on GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, network information, AI, SLAM real-time local map building algorithm, to create a cloud service driven by Oppo “and The digital world where the real world is seamlessly integrated. Finally, Oppo also took the opportunity of the Future Technology Conference to announce that its AR developer co-creation plan will be officially launched in 2021. This will include developer recruitment, developer communication and developer support projects. .
