The planet Venus, a symbol of love and beauty, is observed in the sky of the Arab world before dawn throughout the month of December, as it is easily seen towards the eastern horizon with the naked eye like a jewel that shines in the sky.

And Venus moved from the evening sky to the dawn sky on June 3, 2020, in a phenomenon called the inner conjunction, and this happens once every (584 days), after which it reached July 10, 2020 for its peak of brightness. in the sky of dawn, in what is called (the maximum amount of illumination)), (4.7-) since it was 30 times brighter than Sirius.

This was followed by the arrival of Venus at its maximum elongation from the sun into the dawn sky in mid-August, and the planet will remain as bright as the morning “star” for the rest of this year, and for a few months into 2021. .

According to the Astronomical Society of Jeddah, throughout the month of December Venus in its fastest orbit around the sun will move away from the Earth, and it is noted by observing through the telescope that the illumination of the planet’s disk has increased, and this corresponds to a decrease in the size of its apparent disc, as it will be a pinch lit by 89% in early December and 94% By the end of the month, its diameter will have shrunk to about 91% of its initial size by the end of December.

It is worth noting that in ancient times Venus was called (Hesperus) when seen in the evening sky and (Vespore) when seen in the dawn sky, and it is unknown if they knew they were a body.
