Dr. Errol Gaum had his license suspended indefinitely by the Nova Scotia Provincial Dental Council.
Gaum is a registered dentist who recently practiced in Bedford, NS
In a press release released Thursday morning, the dental council said it called an emergency meeting of its complaints committee Wednesday night to consider recent complaints filed against Gaum.
The announcement comes about a week after allegations of professional misconduct, including the excessive use of force on children while they were in her dental chair, began surfacing on social media.
A Facebook group devoted to the dentist charges has since attracted more than 1,000 members and has dozens of posts from people sharing stories that date back more than two decades.
