New York Media, whose sites include New York Magazine is Slate, is collaborating with Po.et, a blockchain protocol for managing creative content.

According to a press statement, the partnership will involve the integration of blockchain technology into New York Media's open source publishing platform, Clay, which allows publishers to broaden options to establish content ownership and better monetize this aspect. The Po.et system also allows the creation of applications "to further enable services such as networks of efficient contributors, content markets and decentralized search algorithms", reads the statement.

New features should be available at the start of next year.

Daniel Hallac, Chief Product Officer of New York Media, said his company is "curious to see what new uses will come out of this technology".

The CEO of Po.et, Jarrod Dicker, commented: "In the same way that blockchain technologies have revolutionized the financial sector, Po.et wants to transform the publishing sector by creating an immutable and distributed ledger for creative works which can serve as a platform for both decentralized multimedia applications. "

Dicker said the Clay platform was seen as a suitable means of making Po.et accessible to major publishers. "By leveraging all the technologies within its stack, New York Media and its partners will continue to push the latest wave of newsroom innovation," he said.

Po.et boasts an easy-to-use application programming interface (API) and integrates with the main content management systems such as WordPress.

Po.et's product manager David Turner, in a post on Medium, said: "We love the fact that Clay is powered by open source software and consists of Javascript modules available on npm, but the core of the system is based on Kiln, the editing interface and Amphora, the REST API. "

He added that working with large-scale publishers like New York Media will help to adapt their basic protocol for use cases yet to be discovered. "The best way to create great products is with partners who will test our work," said Turner.

Note: Tokens on the Bitcoin Core (segwit) chain are called BTC coins. Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV) is today the only implementation of Bitcoin following the original whitepaper of Satoshi Nakamoto for Peer to Peer Electronic Cash. Bitcoin BSV is the only major public blockchain that maintains the original Bitcoin vision as fast and frictionless electronic money.
