Bringing Ripple and XRP to the masses will not be an easy undertaking by any means. Indeed, it could be argued that this digital heritage is not designed to be sued by the common person. Thanks to a new WoppleCommerce Ripple Gateway plugin, this situation may change sooner or later. Having an option to quickly process XRP payments through a WordPress site can be very useful in the long run.
Accepting XRP payments is not so easy. There is only one major payment processor that has embraced the RIpple resource to date. CoinPayments was the first to introduce XRP payments, to which they support several tens of altcoins these days. However, very few people effectively use this particular service to process RIpple transactions. It remains to be seen if this new WordPress plugin can make a big difference in this sense.
WordPress Plugin for XRP payments
More specifically, now there is an official Woocommerce Ripple Gateway plugin. The plugin itself is no longer a third-party solution, as it can be downloaded directly from the WordPress installation. This is a great move to make this solution more attractive to retailers. The installation of the plugin is quite simple, as it works like any other plugin for the platform. It is also open source, which means that further changes may be introduced in the future.
So far, the community seems quite enthusiastic about this Woocommerce plugin. Although not many people may want to accept XRP payments at this time, it is good to have more options available. So far, the plugin has less than 10 installations. It will be interesting to see if this situation will change in the future. WordPress is a popular solution for e-commerce purposes, though. This plugin can also be used to accept XRP donations, if necessary. It is a positive development for the community as a whole, however, it is evident that much.
The biggest question is whether this will affect the XRP price or not. In the last days, we have seen some small jolts in the right direction. While other currencies are exploding, XRP remains fairly stable or even decreases. This is not a fun feeling in any way, but it is to be expected from a digital resource. However, Ripple's XRP is subject to speculation. This new Woocommerce plugin can slowly turn the ship, but only time will tell.
