The popular web browser, Opera recently announced the release of its new blockchain-compatible browser with an Ethereum portfolio integrated on the Android platform. The updated version of the app is provided with Web 3 support based on the previously released statement. Opera said the new app seems to offer Android users the opportunity to easily experience Web 3 as well as a means to accelerate the transition of digital currencies from speculative investments to daily use in transactions.
The company believes that the platform now offers a place where users will be able to use online cryptocurrencies with ease thanks to the launch of the new updated Android app. This is a great improvement because, in the past, it was not an easy task. With the choice to go in the direction of Ethereum it is mainly towards its massive dApp developer community. The Web browser believes that by offering Ethereum Web 3 API support, interactions with decentralized applications will become easier for users. In addition, the company has revealed plans to extend its portfolio to support additional cryptocurrencies and networks in the future.
Regarding the new version, Joe Lubin, founder of ConsenSys and co-founder of Ethereum together with Vitalik Buterin said:
"It is a significant step for one of the world's leading browsers to add a cryptographic portfolio and dere explorer based on Ethereum and speaks of the innovative roots of Opera and of the commitment to the adoption of next-generation technology. as an important moment to improve the accessibility of Dapp, to open Web3 to the mainstream public and to encourage developers to build on Ethereum. "
Web 3, the upcoming new generation web technology, is a generic term for other emerging technologies. Together, cryptocurrency and blockchain bring greater functionality of the web from its current use to much more significant applications than at any time.
As reported by CCN, on lines similar to Web 3, "The cryptographic browser wallet will demonstrate the ability to renew and extend its role as a tool for accessing information and managing users' online transactions and digital identities in a way that increases security and gives more control."
