The four overseas astronauts of the SpaceX capsule that docked at the International Space Station on Monday harnessed the “force” by bringing with them a stuffed doll of the character of Baby Yoda. Footage of the doll was widely shared on the Internet with many reacting to the “honorary astronaut” on social media.
The Mandalorian series character doll could be seen floating freely inside the Crew Dragon during the journey to the space station. The stuffed animal was part of NASA’s first commercial crew operational mission as an indicator of zero-gravity conditions, due to which it was not laced, the USA Today.
“Inside the cabin we have four astronauts – five actually, we have Baby Yoda aboard, who is trying to take a seat right now,” NASA communications specialist Leah Cheshier joked during the live stream.
“Baby Yoda is trying to fly the vehicle,” Cheshier said.

When videos of the interior of the capsule and the ISS started rolling around, many people reacted to the doll’s presence. Here are some of them:
Baby Yoda has just approached the Space Station. I certainly didn’t see it arrive in last week’s episode of The Mandalorian. https://t.co/8oe2fO9M9Z

The Baby Yoda doll is certainly not the first doll of its kind to travel in space. Previous dolls include a blue and pink sequined dinosaur called “Tremor” in the SpaceX Crew Dragon mission in May and a stuffed earth toy in an unmanned Crew Dragon test in March 2019. The dolls are always served as indicators of gravity conditions. zero.
