Peter Schmeringa graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University of Bratislava, specializing in optics and plasma physics. In 1983 he started working at the Research Institute of Mechanization and Automation (VUMA) in Nové mesto nad Váhom, where he focused on laser technologies.
Subsequently, he developed laser applications, which found application in industry not only in Slovakia. He has several patents focused on laser beam positioning and working with microelectronic circuits.
“In a nutshell, it was the use of a laser as extremely precise, durable and for its long life, almost without a maintenance tool. These properties predispose it directly to application in various industrial environments” he brings his work closer to Schmering.
In the Nové Mesto development center, it has currently developed the most powerful laser-based micromachining technology, which won the Engineering Product of the Year 2015 award.
