Miss Vickie says the fries recovered in eastern Canada were also shipped to western cities

Miss Vickie’s Canada says some of her chips that were part of a recall in eastern Canada earlier this month due to possible glass contamination were inadvertently shipped west.

The company says the chips were only shipped to retail customers in Alberta, Brandon, Man. And Moose Jaw, Sask, and that it is working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to coordinate a voluntary recall.

He says that 630 bags are involved and that they have very specific “guaranteed freshness” dates and “production codes”.

Consumers who purchased the chips should not eat them and are advised to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

In early November, Miss Vickie’s recalled some potato chips sold online and in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada due to what it said were “isolated reports of a small piece of glass found at the bottom of the bag.”

The CFIA states on its website that there have been reports of injuries associated with the products.
