The American site “Axioz” revealed that Arab countries are waiting for the results of the US presidential elections before proceeding to normalization with Israel.
The website says in a report today Thursday that the White House is looking to harness the momentum of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signing two peace agreements with Israel to push more Arab countries to take the same step ahead of elections, scheduled for November 3.
The report indicated that the administration of US President Donald Trump wants at least to push Sudan to announce the end of the state of hostility with Israel and the start of the normalization process.
He indicated that the official Saudi position is based on resuming negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians, predicting that if Trump wins the election, he will try to get Saudi Arabia on the path to normalization.
On Morocco’s position, the report says its position on possible normalization depends more on the results of the US elections.
He expected that if Trump won, he would seek to link normalization between Rabat and Tel Aviv, with Washington’s recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara.
And he saw that his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, would not accept such a deal, apparently, which reduces the chances of normalization between Morocco and Israel in the event of Trump’s loss.
On the Sultanate of Oman, the site claims that the new Sultan, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, does not want to rush into this matter under the current circumstances.
The report cited the expectations of American and Israeli officials that Oman would make a decision on possible normalization based on the US election results.
The report says the US is trying to push Qatar on the path to normalization with Israel, but the ongoing Gulf dispute complicates the matter.
According to the report, US officials have ensured that Israel’s normalization process with the UAE and Bahrain is underway, and they now feel that things are developing in the right direction and the need for their oversight of the process is decreased.
