In News Reporter Eunsil Yoo and Jaehyung Lee ㅣ KDB Development Bank are considering selling Asiana Airlines to Korean Air. When an agreement with both companies, the largest of the national airlines, is concluded, a large airline will be born.

According to the financial sector on the 13th, the acquisition is very likely in the direction of the Hanjin Group which buys Asiana Airlines through the Korea Bank financing.

Specifically, if KDB invests funds in Hanjin Kal at the top of the Hanjin Group governance structure through a paid capital increase method assigned to a third party, Hanjin Kal acquires a 30.77% stake in Asiana Airlines in Kumho Industries .

In this regard, the Bank stated: “It has not been confirmed as one of several options”. A Korean Air official also said it “has not been confirmed” regarding the acquisition of Asiana Airlines.

Currently Asiana Airlines is in the credit management system. In September, when the acquisition agreement with HDC Hyundai Development Company was permanently canceled, the credit management system was changed.

Normalization of Asiana is difficult. We have already used 3.3 trillion won, backed by state-owned banks, and recently received an additional 240 billion won in key sector stabilization funds.

The industry considers that this transaction could be an alternative to each other as the needs of KDB and Hanjin Group, which have constantly sought the normalization of Asiana Airlines, are met. However, considering the fact that Saneun is one of several options, it is analyzed that Asiana Airlines’ normalization direction could be directed elsewhere.
