The conflict over Songhyeon-dong land began when the Seoul metropolitan government announced plans to develop the park earlier this year.
Coronavirus-hit Korean Air began selling the Songhyeon-dong site as part of a self-help plan presented to creditors, but the sale was canceled due to the announcement of Seoul’s parklandization. At first, fifteen companies expressed their intention to buy, but none responded to the offer.
As a result, Korean Air filed a complaint with the Authority in June.
Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) bought the Songhyeon-dong site and agreed to a mediation plan to exchange it with the Seoul Metropolitan Government due to the KFTC’s arbitration efforts.
