JSE retains the gains as in the temporary trading

The JSE rebounded on the following Friday
consecutive sessions of losses due to a negative global sentiment.

Global markets were relatively uncertain
before the release of the very important Non-Farm Payrolls data from the United States
which was scheduled for publication at 3:30 pm.

The number came in worse than
expected as the US economy managed to add 155,000 jobs compared to one
expectation of the addition of 200,000 jobs. Average hourly earnings MoM
also advanced slower than expected growth of 0.2% compared to a forecast
0.3%. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.7%.

The rand weakened significantly on Thursday
mainly based on the strength of the US dollar. The data on the weaker US occupation saw the
shooting at the greenback that gave way to the rand to strengthen. The rand has reached the peak
to R13.92 / $ following the release of job data in the United States, before returning to trade
at R13.96 / $ at 5.00 pm CAT.

On the JSE, the trend has been largely positive
how the local stock market followed the movement in the major European stock exchanges that were
constant trading. Rhodes Food Group [JSE:RFG] he managed to finish in the day
the greatest gains after the share rose 6.8% to close at R18.69. Nampak
[JSE:NPK] doubled to 7.51% to close at R15.17, while Kumba's iron ore [JSE:KIO] managed to earn 4.78% to close at R272.86.

Dealer, Pepkor Holdings [JSE:PPH] added 4.8% to end the day at R21.19, while its industry peer, Massmart Holdings
[JSE:MSM] 2.95% more closed at R106.00. Naspers [JSE:NPN] gained 2.14% a
close at R2814.00.

Of the losers of the day, Dis-Chem [JSE:DCP] it came under pressure as it lost 4.75% to close at R28.89, while Property Rebosis
Fund [JSE:REB] fell 4.14% to end the day at R2.78. Steinhoff International
[JSE:SNH] it remained understated as it lost 2.5% to close at R1.56, and famous brands
[JSE:FBR] it also struggled because it fell by 2.93%, closing at R99.50.

Rand Hedge,
Worlds [JSE:MNP] closed at R293.52 after losing 2.72%, while the American Briton
Tobacco [JSE:BTI] closed 2.29% weaker at R481.49.

The JSE All-Share index eventually closed 0.48%
higher, while the JSE Top-40 index gained 0.54%. The financial index closed
flat after managing only 0.02% earnings. Industrial indices and resources
gained respectively 0.44% and 0.76%.

Brent crude probably registered the largest
the jump of the day after OPEC has agreed for a cut of oil production bigger than expected a
his meeting. Brent crude sold 5.59% to $ 63.42 / barrel soon thereafter

At 5.00 pm CAT, gold gained 0.78%
