Thiruvananthapuram: India has the potential to be a leader in the Blockchain revolution, said Canadian expert Bob Tapscott here on Saturday. "When I was working in Silicon Valley, it was amazing to see the percentage of products created by people in India that has a perfect ecosystem that is prepared with talent and skill.
"Considering talent in the country, I can clearly say that India has the ability to lead the Blockchain revolution," Tapscott said at the "BlockHash Live 2018" summit organized by the Kerala Blockchain Academy (KBA) here.
The three-day event offered an opportunity for Blockchain's global companies to look into expanding their operations in Kerala and across the country.
"Canada aspires to this sector, while Switzerland has taken the lead in cryptography, but it is not necessarily the protagonist of the Blockchain revolution: in terms of knowledge, skills and technology, India is able to drive", underlined Tapscott. However, he said that Blockchain would not eliminate jobs in the future.
"Instead, it has the potential to eliminate unneeded intermediaries and make organizations more efficient. In fact, it's a job creator. In the case of Artificial Intelligence (AI), drivers work in warehouses and work as cooks while AI technology eliminates jobs "the expert stressed.
