SP Jain School of Global Management ranked among the top ten business schools in India, issuing 1,189 blockchain-based certificates for graduates who have recently obtained professional degrees and certifications.
Now they live on Ethereum's blockchain, these certificates will allow potential employers and other parties to verify the authenticity of the qualifications of a job seeker. According to Business World, the validation process is intuitive and technical know-how is not a necessity.
Certificates based on Blockchain
The potential employer or other parties do not require additional software or specialized equipment, all they have to do is scan the QR code printed on the certificate. The block created for the graduate will include degrees, portfolios, projects and even presences.
All this information will be available without compromising the privacy of graduates. The president of SP Jain School of Global Management, Nitish Jain said:
"There have been several attempts globally to issue certificates on the blockchain, but so far no one has captured the entire certification lifecycle.The presence of students and other private data is stored securely in the private blockchain of the school and only the certification data are exposed to the Ethereum public blockchain. "
With the issuance of 1,189 blockchain-based educational certificates, the SP Jain School of Global Management is now part of an ever-growing list of institutions that are prone to generalized accounting technology. This particular case of use is to stem fraud related to educational credentials such as degrees and diplomas.
Other institutes
The Malaysian Ministry of Education announced a blockchain-based release and verification system for university degrees last month. In an effort to reduce the false grades that make genuine students at a disadvantage and the global ecosystem in danger, Malaysia is employing the NEM blockchain.

Blockchain-based e-certificates have been archived and shared on the free and open-source Blockcerts Wallet and aim to speed up the verification process that usually takes weeks or months. "
In recent months there has been a noticeable increase in the adoption of blockchains by educational institutions, the likes of the Russian University, the University of Tokyo and Kingsland University offer various courses related to a blockchain and cryptocurrency.
