The United Nations has revealed that four countries are about to enter famine in the coming months, pointing out that this is mainly related to the continuing conflict and armed conflict in those countries.
The Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Food Program indicated that the four countries are Burkina Faso, South Sudan and northeastern Nigeria, as well as Yemen, noting that some people, who live in these four regions, they face a critical state of hunger.
The United Nations organization also said that the risk of famine increases dramatically with the difficulties of providing humanitarian aid to those who deserve it in those countries, due to the intensification of armed clashes, stressing that what the world is witnessing in terms of crises, conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics increases the number of hungry people in the world.
In the same context, the organization stressed that the threat of famine is not limited to the aforementioned countries, but the threat of hunger also includes 16 other countries suffering from acute food insecurity, namely Venezuela, Haiti, Ethiopia, Somalia, Cameroon, Republic Central African, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan.
