IBM has joined the decentralized cross-blockchain register initiative which claims to be a similar one of the Yellow Pages for blockchain projects, according to an announcement on 13 September.

The initiative called the Unbounded Register will be led by the HACERA blockchain startup, and is designed to provide "decentralized means for registration, research, accession and transfer through a variety of blockchain solutions" , built to interact with all today's distributed accounting technologies. "

The project will address the main issues in the field, including the name reserved for blockchain projects, the detection of networks and blockchain applications and a catalog of specific functions and services of the domain.

Other members of the register include Intel, Chinese technology giant Huawei, Batavia, Hitachi and the Australian Blockchain Association.

IBM is known for its openness to the study and application of blockchain technology in various fields. Earlier this month, the technology giant revealed a Stellar-based "real-time" block payment network called Blockchain World Wire (BWW). The solution was developed to facilitate international agreements between banks.

In August, IBM and Danish transport and logistics giant Maersk jointly launched their blockchain-enabled global shipping solution. The platform is able to monitor in real time the critical data related to each shipment in a supply chain, generating a record distributed and immutable on the fly.

IBM iX, IBM's business and technology consulting firm, in partnership with software provider Mediaocean, launched a blockchain digital media transaction tracker to "clean up" in the shopping industry in June of the media.
