After Huawei previously sold the Honor brand business, he stressed that it will not interfere with brand management and decision-making issues in the future. However, after confirming it will be split and sold recently, many senior Huawei officials have joined in to the management of the Honor system after the split. In the future, Honor may focus on mobile phones and tablet products, while Huawei will focus on the related activities of Netcom, PC or smart connected devices. However, it is not yet known whether the P series and Mate series will be taken over by Honor or maintained.
After the division and sale of the Honor brand business earlier, Huawei has emphasized that it will no longer hold shares of Honor in the future and at the same time will not interfere in the management of future operations and operational decisions of the Honor brand. However, according to media reports, it is currently confirmed that Wan Biao, Huawei’s former director of consumer business operations, will serve as president of the spin-off Honor. Originally, Honor president Zhao Ming will serve as CEO and Fang Fei, the former vice president of Huawei products, will serve as Honor products. Yang Jian, the former chairman of Huawei’s China retail management department for consumer business, will be the future president of glory retail management.
It is reported that Wan Biao was primarily responsible for managing supply chain relations during Huawei’s time and is expected to be responsible for supplying components such as chips for various Honor products in the future. According to the news, at least 6,000 employees linked to Huawei’s supply chain have joined the Honor split system, which will increase the total number of Honor employees to nearly 8,000.
Many Huawei senior executives and related employees in the supply chain joined the glory situation, which means that the future glory business may focus on mobile phones and tablet products. Huawei’s business will likely focus on Netcom related products, PCs or smart networking devices. There is still no news to indicate whether the P and Mate series will be transferred to Honor or will still be implemented under the Huawei brand, so more news or official announcements will come out.
Huawei previously sold the Honor brand business to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd., and the company’s largest investment shareholder is the Shenzhen Municipal Government Resource Supervision and Administration Commission.
