Born in 1953, Director Chung is a graduate of Daegu Sang High School and Sungkyunkwan University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois, USA.
As a former 17th to 19th member of the National Assembly (Yeongcheon) of the Saenuri Party, he was chairman of the Planning and Finance Committee from 2014 to 2016. In 2017 he moved to the Democratic Party and joined part of the Moon Jae-in camp, and has been the head of the Insurance Training Institute since late 2018.
Director Chung’s term is until December 12, 2021, and if elected president of the Life Insurance Association, he will remain vacant until the next director is selected.
