The crew will consist of American astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover and Shannon Walker, as well as Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi.

The departure is scheduled for Sunday at 19:00. 27 min. (Monday 02:27 Lithuanian time) from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

This mission marks a major milestone for SpaceX as the leading and most trusted transportation service provider to the US Space Agency as NASA awaits the Starliner capsule being built by Boeing. Testing this spacecraft took a long time, so it can be ready for use no earlier than the beginning of next year.

Since 2012, SpaceX has been carrying stock on the cargo version of the Dragon TKS capsule.

The SpaceX demonstration in May became the first manned spaceflight from US territory since 2011, when the Americans completed the Space Shuttle reusable spacecraft program. That demonstration mission ended the U.S. dependence on Russian Soyuz missiles that carried American astronauts to TKS.

The launch of the spacecraft will be monitored by Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen Pence.

The crew will arrive at TKS on Monday at approximately 11pm. (Tuesday at 6 am Lithuanian time) and, having contributed to the two Russians and an American already in orbit, he will work there for six months.
