The history of the Ford Mondeo / Fusion model is in the last hundred meters, at least in the current generation and situation. The American version of the car was completely removed from the offer in July of this year, its place will be taken by a possible SUV, and in Europe the Mondeo of the current generation did not have gasoline-powered internal combustion engines.

So far Mondeo has been available in Europe with the 1.5-liter EcoBoost petrol station, the latest classic internal combustion unit offered in the Old Continent. After eliminating this engine, Mondeo remains available only with the hybrid version, with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol and an electric motor, which delivers 187 hp and 300 Nm in tandem. According to officials of the American company, currently this engine has conquered over 50% of the total sales of the respective model in Europe, and this in the context of the steady decline in sales.

Well, the offer remains a configuration equipped only with a heat engine without any electrified addition, being the 2.0 EcoBlue turbodiesel version. This engine is available in three power variants, with a total of between 120hp and 190hp, the top variant is available in tandem with an all-wheel drive system.

The career of the current Mondeo generation will end in the first half of next year and the fate of the successor is still uncertain. According to preliminary information, the Mondeo will no longer be a new generation sedan, but will become a station wagon with greater off-road capabilities and can only be equipped with hybrid systems.
