People living in the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada were shocked to see a fireball exploding in the night skies. The explosion was so strong and produced pure green light in the sky.
Meteor that looked like a missile
Interestingly, this fireball had an orange tail and, at first glance, several residents feared that a missile had been launched by some enemy nation. People who witnessed the sighting immediately reported it to the International Meteorological Organization (IMO).
“It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ve seen a shooting star before and that was very, very, different,” said Rachel, a resident who witnessed the accident.
What are fireballs?
The object burned in the US recently literally looked like a ball of fire and produced a spectacular glow in the skies. On their website, the International Meteor Organization reveals that fireballs are nothing more than meteors that burn in the earth’s atmosphere.
When these space rocks and meteors enter the Earth’s atmosphere, air penetrates the pockets of these space bodies, pushing them apart and causing them to explode.
“Fireballs are meteors that appear brighter than normal. Fireballs actually occur every day throughout the Earth. For the individual, however, they are a rare sight that is seen very few times in life. remembered that fireballs also occur during the day or on a cloudy night. They also occur on the ocean or on uninhabited portions of land, “IMO says on their website.
Meanwhile, a section of conspiracy theorists has begun to argue that the increase in the number of close asteroid approaches and meteor strikes are an indication of the arrival of Nibiru, a hypothetical planet that could strike the earth and cause a apocalypse. According to these conspiracy theorists, the earth has entered a thick field of debris indicating the arrival of the rogue planet.
