Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Coronavirus pandemic has revealed structural weaknesses in the economic, social and political sectors around the world.

Countries around the world have recently taken extensive measures to contain the virus and avoid the collapse of health systems, which has dealt a lightning blow to industries and jobs globally and caused the worst economic recession since the 1930s.

After countries responded to protect people’s lives and health, governments are now working to protect their livelihoods by working towards a sustainable economic recovery, all amid persistent uncertainty about what we might see in the future. .

Research firm Horizon has developed an index to measure economic recovery in 122 countries, focusing on assessing the state of recovering countries, based on their overall health resilience, and the structural strengths and weaknesses that are already at the heart of the country’s resilience.

The Covid Economic Recovery Index evaluates the characteristics that countries possess that will help them overcome the Corona crisis and recover from it.

These factors were identified on the basis of theoretical and experimental research on economic growth and the resilience of countries in dealing with crises and in responding to previous epidemics.

Finland ranked first in the world in the economic recovery index, followed by Norway in second place and Germany in third place.

At the Arab level, the UAE ranked first in the Arab world, where it ranked 37 in the world, followed by Saudi Arabia in second in the Arab world and Kuwait in third in the Arab world.
