The group will try to analyze and provide the basis for operating distributed distributed registries to be distributed among various industries and government institutions.
A blockchain is a growing list of records linked together with cryptography. By design, data from a blockchain can not be changed. It is a distributed open register that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and securely. The distributed master books are mostly known for their use with cryptocurrencies like bitcoins, but they can also be used for digital identity attributes, tracking objects or checking service level agreements.
Distributed registries may be unauthorized (public) or authorized (private). While unauthorized registries are known by the general public through popular terms such as Bitcoin, authorized distributed registries are best qualified to address the most business-oriented use cases affecting industry and government institutions.
The founding members of the Distributed Ledgers group of permits include Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, Telefónica and Vodafone.
The new ETSI group will work on the challenges related to the operation of distributed master books, business use cases, functional architecture and solutions for the operation of authorized distributed registers, including interfaces / APIs / protocols and data / data models, as well as other arguments.
