Parity Technologies, one of the main developers in the ecosystem Ethereum, received $ 5 million this week from the Ethereum Foundation for their participation and contribution to the project. In the announcement, the Foundation stated that Parity made significant contributions as well is currently developing the basic infrastructure for Ethereum 2.0.
The announcement also says that the grant awards to Parity Technologies the continuation of the construction of the ecosystem, in particular the solutions for security, escalation and the usability challenges of Ethereum.
The Foundation decided to award the grant in a phased manner with two lots. The first has already been disbursed, while the second lot is expected to be released as the production study reaches some consolidated milestones.
The greatest success of Parity Technologies is a Parity Ethereum customer. This client has obtained widespread adoption of cryptocurrency exchange, miners, dApps developers and service providers alike.
At DevCon 4 in Prague, Parity presented its proposal for the implementation of the Parity Ethereum client with its support for the proposed update of the Ethereum Serenity code.
Parity Technologies has a pretty impressive curriculum beyond the Parity Ethereum client which demonstrates its focus on building the ecosystem. These are some of the applications that the development study has created so far:
- A lightweight ETH wallet called Equality Fether which is based on the Parity thin client.
- Parity Signer, which is a hardware portfolio that helps users to easily sign transactions.
- substrate, a structure for the construction of the Parity implementation of the Parity Serenity client.
These are just the tip of the iceberg. Equality was extremely instrumental in creating an application for the Ethereum ecosystem. The development firm claims to have sponsored its activities while exploiting open source resources and talent.
Grant money is set up to help Parity complete (or enhance) its work on Casper's update, thin clients, and infrastructure improvements and fragmentation.
The milestones that the Foundation has established to release its second set of funds include:
- The completion of compatibility works with eWasm.
- The sending of one light portfolio for the main network.
- Successfully complete the Phase 0 and Phase 1 of fragmentation
