The very popular and popular digital wallet interface for storing ETH token MyEtherWallet has started its official iOS version of MEWconnect for the token Ethereum and ERC-20.
Launched by MyEtherWallet Inc., MEWconnect is active and can be found on the Apple Store for devices running on iOS such as iPhone 5 or later. The beta version of Android has been announced to be used by the end of this month (Sep 2017) and will be found through the Hockey app.
The founder and CEO of MyEtherWallet – Kosala Hemachandra, noted how the work of the application is giving the opportunity to participate in the wide-ranging encryption and transition that is taking place:
" We have worked hard to improve MEWconnect in the last few months and we are excited to finally provide our global users with this free and easy-to-use app that has the functionality of a hardware portfolio, we believe this app will play a key role in the adoption more extensive cryptocurrencies and we are not looking forward to being part of this transition. With this application, users can now easily interact directly with MEW via their mobile phone, while maintaining full control of their keys and funds private "
About two months ago, MEW turned to social media to send an urgent message about a potential attack. matic. According to the Tweet, the Hola VPN extension was in a compromised state for five hours, allowing hackers to monitor the activities of some MyEtherWallet users through extension.
Urgent! If you have installed the Hola chrome extension and used MEW in the last 24 hours, immediately transfer your funds to a brand new account!

MEW takes a "you are your bank" approach, encouraging its users to take control of their private keys. Although the MEW service has been praised for the decentralized aspects it offers, the private key system increases the risk of loss of funds / mismanagement from user to user.
