Kaleido, a subsidiary of Consensys, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of Kaleido Marketplace, a full-stack Ethereum [ETH] platform for decentralized business solutions. The new product basically offers business customers interested in developing their blockchain "a whole cloud of blockchain technologies" It will save them the hustle and bustle of writing up to 80% of the custom code.
The Kaleido argument is that most of the code that makes up the blockchain is mostly repetitive code that can be easily borrowed.
According to Kaleido CEO Steve Cerveny:
"The reality is that only about 10% of a business blockchain project is the blockchain itself. There are many other applications, data and components of the infrastructure needed to go into production.I am very happy to have an entire cloud of technologies pre-integrated blockchains to use for our customers. "
Kaleido Marketplace is a plug-n-play solution for the company that is bundled with industry products such as:
- chainlink for intelligent contractual oracles
- Viant for supply chain management
- OpenLaw and Clause.io for legal contracts in real time
Once a client company has chosen to access the market, they get access to this software suite instead of developing all this code. The new Ethereum market will accelerate project development from proof-of-concept phases to live production business networks in the shortest possible time.
Kaleido was launched in May 2018 as a subsidiary of Consensys, the blockchain technology company founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin. Since its inception, it has signed more than 1,000 enterprise customers who have found a use for its Blockchain Business Cloud solution. The Marketplace Ethereum Kaleido is an extension of these services in collaboration with AWS and Consensys among a host of other program partners.
The vision of Kaleido Marketplace is to fill the gap that has yet to be filled by the lack of blockchain developers. The blockchain industry is growing at an unprecedented rate and the demand for skilled blockchain developers is becoming unsatisfactory. Kaleido is therefore trying to reduce the need for software developers by providing the code needed to launch custom private blockchain projects by borrowing the code from Kaleido Marketplace partners.
