Ethereum Classic Vision (ETCV) is a confirmed scam, a victim shares his experience on Reddit.
The Ethereum Classic Vision (ETCV) was confirmed as a scam after a victim confirmed the loss of 131 ETH on Reddit, while both their websites, https://ethereumcv.io and https: // etcv -wallet.com, have also been deactivated.
Previously, the Watch Wallet team reported their suspicions about the ETCV project that claimed to be the first crossroads on the Ethereum network scheduled for January 11.
"The code analysis performed by our team has shown that the piece of code provided actually sends the private key data to the Ethereum Classic Vision servers, disguising it as an API token," said the Wallet team.
Using many alleged fake accounts on Twitter that have many followers, they have promoted that anyone who joins will receive 3 ETCV tokens for every 1 ETH.
According to a Twitter user with the handle, @FlyGuyInTheSky, there are many other red flags on ETCV projects.
The first one to notice is the heavy promotion of fake Twitter accounts, in which he said: "Something very strange is happening with ETCV #airdrop 100 of accounts, especially young busty women, they are pushing him a lot".
#ETCV $ etcv Something very strange is happening with the ETCV #airdrop 100 of accounts mainly of young busty women are pushing very hard. These accounts have many "followers" probably also all fake. On instructions on how to receive ETCV tokens provided by the malicious actor, "Regardless of the authorized portfolio you use to keep your ETH, your free ETCV will initially be sent to the official Ethereum Classic Vision portfolio while we are currently in negotiations with a certain number of popular portfolios, at the time of the fork we will not be able to send ETCV to those wallets because of some differences in the algorithms used ", warned not to download any link wallet provided by ETCV.
However, it seems that ETCV has still successfully dropped people into their trap, despite the many obvious red flags.
A Reddit user, Chris Brearly, said: "The website https://ethereumcv.io/ looks legitimate and even has a roadmap and a white paper. They direct you to their online portfolio https://etcv-wallet.com / to request / view your ETVC coins where they steal your private keys and move your Eth on.

It's so sad to see people continue to be victims of scam projects like this or ETH Nowa (ETN), citing Fly Guy's tweet, "STOP! Give private keys away … that's why they're called private."
