According to Kevin Rooke, a cryptocurrency researcher, Ethereum and EOS currently have a total of eight decentralized applications (dApps) with over 300 active users.
However, both blockchain networks have a value of $ 1 billion and EOS to $ 4.6 billion.

However, the lack of activity in the dApp on Ethereum and EOS does not only concern the difficulty in resizing the public networks of blockchain. For example, protocol 0x, which simplifies the peer-to-peer cryptocurrency transactions through a unique on-and-off-chain hybrid mechanism, is able to process many transactions on its network for decentralized digital resource exchanges.
Rather, the lack of dApp activity can be attributed to the user interface of most of the dApps and to the concept of decentralized systems that is still relatively new to the vast majority of consumers.
Last week, as reported by CCN, singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings discussed Ethereum's Twitter Peepeth with Joe Rogan on Joe Rogan Podcast (JRE). Jennings struggled to explain to Rogan the process of sending gas to the Ethereum network after each piece of information was transmitted to the main Ethereum chain.
For years, until dApps does not find a way to allow users to cover the costs of gas unknowingly or in the background, the adoption of dApp by the mainstream will be stalled in a stalemate.
But the creator of Gnosis Martin Koppelman said that there is a metric that is much more important than the base of active users of dApps and that is the network effect and interconnection of dApps.
Already now that the adoption of dApp remains rather low, Koppelman has said that dApp will have to rely on mutual infrastructures in order to create a truly decentralized dApp network.
"The numbers we are interested in are decentralized applications, and as a next step, the number to keep an eye on is DAPP that interact seamlessly with each other and benefit from being on the same platform. As a side effect, ultimately the price of Eth will therefore be a function of the demand for the use of applications in this reliable, open and interconnected environment, "Koppelman said.
Scalability Issues
The adoption of dApps is not necessarily influenced by blockchain scalability problems and as the open source developer community continues to improve blockchain scalability solutions, scalability will become a minor problem .
In the near future, developers will need to find a way to make dApps easy to use as centralized platforms and a way to encourage users to move from centralized alternatives to dApp.
