Elon Musk tested positive for Covid-19 but called the results “extremely bogus”.
The pioneer of the technology revealed he was suffering from symptoms including “mild runny nose and cough and mild fever”.
He went on to do a series of tests for the coronavirus and was baffled when two tests came back negative and two positive.
Musk shared his dilemma on Twitter, writing: “Something extremely bogus is happening.
“I’ve been tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse.
When one of his followers asked him how he feels, Musk replied: “Symptoms of a typical cold. Nothing unusual so far.”
He added: “Slight sniffles and cough and light fever in the last few days. Right now, no symptoms, even though I took NyQuil.”
He kept asking his followers about the testing schedule in an attempt to find out more about whether his tests might have returned false positives.
Musk, who is the head of SpaceX, was expected to participate in the launch of a mission to the International Space Station (ISS) this weekend.
However, he may be forced to skip the event due to his test results.
The launch is expected to take place on Sunday after being delayed due to strong winds.
