Space X CEO Elon Musk recently revealed his version of what life on Mars would be like. While it might look like a scene from a science fiction movie, Musk said humans would be able to breathe on the red planet with the help of artificial technology. Musk’s remarks came in response to a Portuguese “Astronomiaum” Twitter page that asked Tesla’s CEO if life was possible on Mars.

“Elon wants to populate Mars”

It all started when ‘Astronomiaum’ reiterated the 2017 business tycoon’s statement that he’d rather live on Mars. “Elon wants to populate Mars with more than 1 million people by 2050. Is that possible, Elon Musk?”, The tweet reads. Surprisingly, Musk responded by commenting on “Deveras” which means “Really”

Following this, ‘Astronomiaum’ further questioned: “Elon: By the time people arrived on Mars, would the planet have already been terraformed or would people have created another way for SpaceX to survive on the red planet?”. In response to this, the 49-year-old initially publicized the survival of humans in glass domes. However, he said the neighboring planet’s environment could eventually be terraformed to make it suitable for humanity.

The futuristic conversation created a stir on the internet with Musk’s tweet garnering over eight thousand likes. Many people also took the opportunity to question Musk further and also express their opinion on the same. “And the government? asked a curious user. While another added: “Glass domes? Should be able to withstand desert storms, right? I would have assumed a different material.” Yet some thought that the problem on Earth should be solved first and wrote: “Elon, don’t you think it’s better to try to solve Earth’s problems like hunger, social inequality, global warming and the greenhouse effect, before colonizing Mars? “
