Chakib added on the sidelines of the first forum for healthcare in the Mediterranean, which was held at the Mediterranean Economic Summit in Barcelona, ​​that medical insurance could develop rapidly, given the urgent need for medical coverage for all. groups, especially those with limited income through health micro-insurance. -insurance).
Shakib explained today in a press release that the Arab Insurance Federation is participating in this forum for the first time, to exchange knowledge on growth and development in the health sector, especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.

The forum highlighted the importance of a strong and effective and interconnected health system in the Mediterranean region, where it became clear that the region is needed to strengthen and reorganize the health sector in order to respond to the challenges that may arise, bearing in mind that the health crisis knows no borders.

He also discussed the challenges facing the region, how to address them and how the health system in all countries was not prepared to deal with the Crown disaster, as well as how to build sustainable health systems in the Mediterranean economies as one of the biggest challenges in the region.

In a related context, Shakeeb stressed the need for public-private partnerships at this time more than ever because it can be essential to build health systems that can withstand and prepare for emergencies, to develop the traditional concept of these partnerships towards a system of sustainable cooperation.

The first Mediterranean Health Care Forum was held as part of the Mediterranean Economic Summit in Barcelona with the participation of leaders from the public sector and entrepreneurs from Europe and the Mediterranean and for the first time with the participation of the General Arab Insurance Union.

Interestingly, the General Arab Insurance Federation was founded in 1964 and is the only body representing – at the Arab world level – insurance and reinsurance companies, trade unions, insurance control bodies, brokerage firms and medical services.
