Eastern Health identifies the source of COVID cases in Grand Bank

Grand Bank

Eastern Health says it has identified the source of at least four confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grand Bank.

Janice Fitzgerald, the province’s medical director of health, says she has no evidence of the spread in the community.

What worries many is the fact that it is linked to Blue Ridge Cottages, which led to a warning from Eastern Health about potential exposure to the virus.

Eastern Health CEO David Diamond and Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Allison held a press conference today with reporters on the situation in the Grand Bank.

Dr. Allison says the source was quickly identified.

Although there were initial indications that the source was not identified, they were quick to discover it. This helped them focus their investigation.

Eastern Health indicates there are 13-14 potential contacts and are awaiting updated lab results.
