In a written response to CTV News, Fraser Health said the unprecedented number of new COVID-19 cases in communities is spreading to places like healthcare facilities.

Fraser Health currently has 22 outbreaks in care facilities and Vancouver Coastal Health has nine.

“With each outbreak, we put advanced control measures in place at each site, such as restricting movement within the facility and adding improved cleanliness, infection control measures and shielding of staff and residents,” he said. called Fraser Health.

At Tabor Village, the executive director said that while Fraser Health works to determine how the virus entered the building and infected so many people, its staff are working hard to stop any further spread.

“We are focusing on making sure the infection control plan is sound and that everything we could do to protect the people who work here and the people who live here … is being done to help them,” Dan Levitt told CTV News.

Levitt said they are also testing everyone in the facility.
