Dominion workers ratify the new agreement to end the strike

Dominion workers have ratified a new collective agreement with Loblaw, ending a 12-week strike.

Unifor confirmed on Friday evening that workers voted to accept Loblaw’s final offer and that the return to work protocol will be implemented in the coming days.

The new four-year contract is backdated to October 2019.

Unifor national president Jerry Dias says some improvements have been included in the final offer, but acknowledges that there is still a lot of work to be done to address wages and working conditions in grocery stores across the country.

Some 1,400 workers in 11 Dominion locations across the province attended the picket in late August.
